PageantTree Payout Policy

Effective: November 11, 2025
Applies To: All sellers using the "Buy" or "Buy Now" button on resale listings.


1. Overview

This Payout Policy explains how and when sellers are paid for completed sales on the PageantTree Marketplace.
All payments and payouts are processed securely through Stripe Connect, our third-party payment provider.
By listing items for sale with a Buy Button enabled, you agree to this Payout Policy and to Stripe's Connected Account Agreement.

PageantTree acts solely as a facilitator of payments between buyers and sellers.
PageantTree is not the merchant of record and does not hold or control buyer funds.


2. Available Payout Methods

❌ Payouts cannot be sent to PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, or similar wallet services.


3. Verification & Eligibility

  1. Sellers must complete Stripe Connect onboarding and identity verification before payouts can be released.
  2. Sellers may list items before completing verification; however, no funds will be paid out until verification succeeds.
  3. If verification is not completed within Stripe's required timeframe (typically 30 days after a sale), the order may be canceled and the buyer refunded.
  4. Each payout account must belong to the verified individual or entity that owns the seller account. Third-party or shared accounts are not permitted.

PageantTree may delay or withhold payouts if:

  • The seller's Stripe account is unverified or under review,
  • A dispute, refund, or chargeback is pending, or
  • Stripe or PageantTree detects suspicious or fraudulent activity.

5. Fees & Deductions

  1. A 15% platform transaction fee (or applicable discounted rate) is automatically deducted before payout.
  2. Refunds, chargebacks, and Stripe processing fees may reduce your available balance.
  3. If PageantTree issues a refund to a buyer after payout, the refunded amount may be debited from your future payouts.

6. Refunds, Disputes & Reversals

  • Buyers may request refunds for items not received or materially misrepresented.
  • PageantTree reviews refund requests and may issue refunds directly through Stripe.
  • In the event of a chargeback or reversal, Stripe may deduct the amount from your pending or future payouts.
  • Sellers agree to cooperate with PageantTree and Stripe in resolving such matters and to provide requested documentation (e.g., proof of shipment).

7. Taxes & Reporting

  • PageantTree and Stripe may collect and remit sales tax as a registered marketplace facilitator where required by law.
  • Stripe will issue a Form 1099-K (or local equivalent) for sellers meeting reporting thresholds.
  • Sellers are responsible for all other applicable income, business, or self-employment taxes on their earnings.

8. Holds, Freezes & Account Termination

PageantTree or Stripe may place a temporary hold or permanent freeze on payouts if:

  • Fraudulent or prohibited activity is suspected,
  • Seller has unresolved chargebacks or disputes,
  • Required verification documents are incomplete or invalid, or
  • The account violates PageantTree Terms or applicable law.

Held funds may be released or refunded according to Stripe's compliance requirements.


9. Non-Circumvention

All sales initiated on PageantTree must be completed through PageantTree's payment system.
Arranging or attempting to complete transactions off-platform to avoid fees or verification is strictly prohibited and may result in account suspension or removal.


10. Changes to This Policy

PageantTree may update this Payout Policy at any time.
Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification.
Continued use of the Buy Button after notice constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
