💵 Getting Paid on PageantTree
Selling on PageantTree is easy — and so is getting paid!
Here's how payouts work when someone buys one of your resale items using the Buy or Buy Now button.
1. How Payouts Work
When a buyer checks out through the Buy button, their payment is processed securely by Stripe, our payment partner.
The funds are held safely in escrow until the order is completed, then sent straight to you.
You'll get a notification every step of the way — when the buyer pays, when they confirm delivery, and when your payout is on its way.
2. Payout Methods
You can choose how you'd like to receive your money:
| Method | What It Is | When You Get Paid |
|---|---|---|
| Direct Deposit (ACH) | Funds go to your bank account. | Within 5–7 business days after buyer confirmation. |
| Instant Payouts (if eligible) | Send money instantly to your debit card. | Same day, minus a small Stripe fee. |
| PageantTree Credit (coming soon) | Keep your balance on PageantTree to shop later — and get a small bonus! | Instantly available as credit. |
⚠️ Payouts cannot go to PayPal, Venmo, or Cash App.
3. Stripe Account Setup
To get paid, you'll need a Stripe Connect account — it's fast and secure.
- You can list items before setting it up.
- When your first item sells, we'll prompt you to finish Stripe verification.
- Stripe will ask for your name, date of birth, and bank or debit-card details.
- Once verified, payouts happen automatically — no extra steps.
If you don't finish verification within 30 days of your first sale, the order may be canceled and the buyer refunded.
4. When You'll Be Paid
Here's the typical timeline:
- Buyer purchases → You get a sale notification.
- You ship → Add tracking info on your order page.
- Buyer confirms delivery → Or, after 3 days, it auto-completes.
- Funds released → Stripe sends payout to your bank or card.
Most sellers see payouts within 7 business days after delivery.
5. Fees and Deductions
PageantTree keeps a 15% transaction fee from each sale.
This covers payment processing, platform support, and buyer protection.
The rest — your net earnings — goes directly to you.
If an order is refunded, the refunded amount is automatically deducted from your available or future payouts.
6. Refunds, Disputes & Chargebacks
If a buyer reports an issue (like "item not as described"), we'll review it fairly and may issue a refund.
If that happens, the amount will come out of your balance or future payouts.
Keep your listings accurate and ship promptly to minimize disputes.
7. Taxes
PageantTree and Stripe may collect and send sales tax where required by law.
If you reach IRS reporting thresholds, Stripe will issue you a 1099-K form for your total sales.
You're responsible for any income taxes on your earnings.
